What image do you have of yourself?

image yourself self-esteem

Everyone sees oneself in a certain way. The image we have of ourselves is based on labile emotions called self-esteem.

People with a low self-esteem are always thinking of being not good enough and cannot enjoy personal success. Usually, they have a negative image of themselves.

On the other hand, there are people, who perceive themselves as being too worthy. They are too self-assured, spoilt, and are searching for permanent attention from the others. They are so in love with themselves, that they neither are able to create real social relationships nor to sustain those over time.

But how to discover if you have a healthy self-esteem?

A healthy self-esteem can be roughly defined as accepting yourself as individual unconditional, that means independently if you are able or not to fulfill expectations or requirements. Because a healthy self-esteem does not depend on what you accomplish. Of course, rejection or failure makes you feel bad. But: They do not throw you out of the train. You are able to keep up with them and to go on.
